Shaykh Zahran Alloush (رحمه الله) was a Syrian mujahid and military leader known for his role during the Syrian war. He was the founder of Jaysh al-Islam and was active in the armed jihad until his death in 2015. In his youth, he is known to have been a student of knowledge and completed his master's degree in sharia at the Islamic University of Medina, where he studied with great scholars of the era such as Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (رحمه الله).
