إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي نِعْمَةٍ فَارْعَهَا فَإِنَّ الذُّنُوبَ تُزِيلُ النِّعَمْ وَحُطْهَا بِطَاعَةِ رَبِّ الْعِبَادِ فَرَبُّ الْعِبَادِ سَرِيعُ النِّقَمْ وَإِيَّاكَ وَالظُّلْمَ مَهْمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ فَظُلْمُ الْعِبَادِ شَدِيدُ الْوَخَمْ وَسَافِرْ بِقَلْبِكَ بَيْنَ الْوَرَى لِتُبْصِرَ آثَارَ مَنْ قَدْ ظَلَمْ فَتِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُهُمْ بَعْدَهُمْ شُهُودٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تُتَّهَمْ وَمَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَضَرَّ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ وَهْوَ الَّذِي قَدْ قَصَمْ فَكَمْ تَرَكُوا مِنْ جِنَانٍ وَمِنْ قُصُورٍ وَأُخْرَى عَلَيْهَا أُطُمْ صَلَوُا الْجَحِيمَ وَفَاتَ النَّعِيمُ وَكَانَ الَّذِي نَالَهُمْ كَالْحُلُمْ If you are blessed with a favor, then guard it well, for sins cause blessings to disappear. Protect it through obedience to the Lord of mankind, for the Lord of mankind is swift in His punishment. Beware of ظلم (oppression) as much as you are able, for wronging people brings dreadful consequences. Travel with your heart among the people, and you will see the traces of those who oppressed others. Their abandoned homes remain after them, standing as witnesses against them, beyond all dispute. Nothing proved more destructive to them than oppression—it was what shattered them. How many gardens they left behind, and palaces, and lofty fortresses. They entered the Blaze, while bliss escaped them; and what befell them became as though their worldly life had been only a dream.
